Abstract: The wave prowation in jointed rock is analysed by FEM with a special joint element de-veloped in this peper. The formulas of FEM for the constraint joint element is derived as well as the im-pactreleasing conditions. With the proposed numerical medel, an Anstrian highway tunnel under blastloading is analysed with consideration of the joint behaviors.
