Experimental study on suctions between grains in unsaturated cohesive soil

  • 摘要: 对粒间吸力的认识是非饱和土有效应力及变形、强度特性研究的基础。由粒间吸力各组成部分的特点 ,提出了非饱和黏性土粒间吸力的测试原理和方法 ,并对红黏土的粒间吸力进行了试验。此研究对于结构性与土的力学性质间关系的研究有重要意义
    Abstract: Study on effective stress and on mechanic properties of unsaturated soils is based on the knowledge about the suctions between grains. In the light of the charateristic of the components of the suctions between grains in cohesive soil, the principle and method of testing the suctions are given and expounded, and the suctions between grains in red clay are measured and analysed.It is found that the influenecs of degree of saturation on the shear strength of cohesive soils are caused not only by the matrix potential in soil but also by the variable structure suction and absorbed suction. The large influences of the chemical composition of water in small opening on the suctions between grains in soils are different from those on the variable structure suction and absorbed suction.
