Stochastic inverse Back Analysis of Measured Displacements

Considering the stochastic uncertainties of measured displacements and mechanical model in geotechnicalengineering,this paper presents a stochastic inverse back arlalysis method,which is based on stochastic finite ele-ment method and characterlstic function analysis method. This method can back-analyse the mean and multi-mo-ment of initial stresses and mechanical behavior parameters of rock or soil.The study shows that the proposedmethod is satisfied for the practical uncertainty of geotechnieal engineering.
