The Liquefaction-inhibiting Effect of Gravel Drains and Surface Load

This paper deals with the analysis on the liquefaction charactristics of saturated sandy deposit and the liquefaction-inhibiting effect of gravel drains and surface load by a two-dimensional finite element program of effective stress equivalent nonlinear method of dynamic analysis. The results of analysis qualitatively conform to the observation from shaking table tests.
