Influences of vehicle loads on retaining structure of excavations

  • Economic development and urbanization lead to more and more complexity of the surroundings of excavations, and higher requirements on the relevant design work are put forward. The risk of excavations in soft clay area is high and the design should be comprehensive. While in practice, the dynamic characteristics of vehicle loads are seldom calculated. The conventional half-plane method (beam on elastic foundation method) and three-dimensional finite element method are adopted to analyze the effects of vehicle loads on the retaining structure system of braced excavation. Moreover, the reinforcement scheme of excavations after collapse is given as references for similar projects.
