  • The critical slip field method proposed by Prof. Zhu Dayong is a new tool for slope stability analysis, in which new procedures for the slope stability analysis are proposed. The applications of this method have been reported in China. The dangerous sliding directions for the points in the sliding zone are determined, and then the critical slip field can be obtained. Actually, the simulation of the critical slip field method can be obtained by using optimization algorithms. The harmony search algorithm is adopted to fulfill this simulation. The proposed method is demonstrated to be valid and efficient by performing the stability of two typical soil slopes.
