Full-scale model tests on behavior of cast-in-place concrete pipe piles with large diameter under lateral loads

    • The behavior of pile under lateral loads is a very complex process of pile-soil interaction. Aimed at the problem of the interaction behavior of the laterally loaded cast-in-place concrete thin-wall pipe piles (PCC piles) installed in double-layered soils, full-scale model tests are carried out using large test trench developed by Hohai University. The interaction behavior of the lateral loaded PCC piles in double-layered soil is obtained, and the internal force and deformation of piles, the critical bearing capacity, and lateral soil pressure can be obtained from the full-scale test. These experimental results are useful for the practical engineering and analysis of PCC piles in the same areas.
