Rowe’s stress-dilatancy model modified for energy dissipation of particle breakage

More Information
  • Published Date: November 14, 2005
  • Hardin’s functions were applied to quantify particle breakage and its energy dissipation.A differential equation of yield function was derived, which was amended for particle breakage according to Rowe’s minimum energy ratio principle. As for confining pressure of 300 kPa,numerical integration of the differential function was employed and yield surface was obtained.Compared with the traditional Rowe’s stress-dilatancy model, the Rowe’s stress-dilatancy model amended for particle breakage is of some obvious advantages such as lower dilatancy, etc.
