    • The mechanism of preventing and curing the rupture of shaft lining by cement grouting in surrounding soil was expounded showing that the vertical additional stress of shaft lining could be released and restrained, and the rupture of shaft lining was cured in the practical application of this me thod. It is indicated by the strain sensors embeded in the concrete of shaft lining that the vertical additional strain of shaft lining decreases by 330 με, and the vertical stress of shaft lining was effectively released. The strain of shaft lining during intermission was almost invariable, the increase of stress of shaft lining was effectively restrained. Ground deformation agrees well with the measured results of the stressed shaft lining. Surrounding soil grouting can mend effectively the load distribution of shaft lining and release obviously the strain of shaft lining, and an restrain obviously the additional increase of stress of shaft lining induced by drainage. The suggested mechanism and technology can be used for preventing and curing rupture of shaft lining in other similar mine.
