Analysis of interaction of superstructure,arch-foundation and soil

An approach was established for the numerical analysis of the interaction among superstructure, arch foundation and soil. In order to consider the effect of multi layered ,non nomogeneous soil, subdivision finite layer method was presented. Pile cap was divided into assembling thick plate elements with rotational D.O.F. An existing construction with arch foundation was analyzed and some interesting results were obtained which may be useful for practical design.
