Application of fracture mechanics of frozen soil to retaining wall stability analysis

Application of fracture mechanics of frozen soil to strength and stability analysis of retaining wall is discussed,fracture criteria are presented,and a simplified of practical method is given.An actual example is calculated using conventional and fracture mechanics methods respectively,and results are compared with each other.It is shown that the method of fracture mechanics of frozen soil is a development of conventional method.
