Field test and analysis on using the new SMW method to brace the pit

This paper makes a field measurement and analysis on the new technology of SMW method based on a pit engineering project in Shanghai adopting prefabric ated piles to replace H-typed steel as the stiff material;demonstrates the eff ec tiveness of this method and the variation of the internal forces in the pr efabricated piles,compares and analyzes the measured data by two computing method, and points out the defects of the currently used method.
