Abstract

A series of model tests designed to present the formation of soil plugs in the process of penetration of suction anchors in silty clay is introduced,and some test results are put forward.By simulating the practical situation of penetration of suction anchors in sea,the relations between the height of soil plug and the factors such as pressure, penetration speed of anchor models, etc are studied.Some phenomena and results of tests are analyzed and some valuable conclusions are primarily obtained in this paper.
