Experimental study on vertical stress of surrounding rock with equivalent material model

The paper describes the principle and method of equivalent model experiment concerning vertical stress of surrounding rock by means of equivalent material simulation,and also analyzes the working function and calibration results of stress loop type model supports. Two experimental examples indicate that this testing method meets the experiment requirement of quantitative analysis, and that its application advantageously improves the experiment study on the mutual relationship between supports and surrounding rock.
