Analysis on lateral behavior of bolts in roof truss system

The lateral behavior of bolts in roof truss system is studied in this paper. The arching mechanism that bolts lateral behavior reinforces the fractured zone of rock in roof is presented. A rational relationship among the tensile force in tied bar, lateral resistance of bolts and reinforcement effect is proposed. A set of formula which can be adopted for design and analysis of roof truss is also put forward. The reliability of theory has been verified by application examples.
